All of us at WPLN are shocked and saddened by the events happening in our nation’s capital today. We built our organization on the importance of amplifying diverse voices and ensuring they are represented at every level of public office. We believe that debate, discourse, and freedom of speech are at the heart of our democracy. However, today’s violence is intolerable and disrespectful to our country’s institutions, and we unequivocally condemn it. 

Now more than ever, we have to come together as a nation to ensure that we continue to build a bigger table so all Americans can have a meaningful voice in their government. Only then will we have a truly reflective democracy.
