ABOUT WPLN

Women's Public Leadership Network (WPLN) is a national 501(c)3 nonpartisan nonprofit organization working to educate, organize and inspire center-right women to seek public office at all levels across the country and be effective leaders. We are the only 501(c)3 specifically reaching out to and training women that self-identify as center- and right-leaning in their political philosophy. We do not endorse individual candidates or specific policies. We organize around a set of shared guiding principles: 1. We want more common sense, pragmatic policy solutions; 2. We want more public leaders, fewer politicians; 3. We want more effective policymakers, not activists; and 4. We are pro-women without being anti-man.

WPLN is driven by a desire to see more diverse voices at decision-making tables across the country. We have a small but mighty team that achieves significant impact while being fiscally responsible and strategically realistic. We have big goals and are looking to bring on individuals who are passionate about our mission and can help us reach those goals. Specifically, we are looking for people who can:

1. FUNDRAISE.

To achieve our goals and reach women in every state, meeting our fundraising goals is critical to our success. As a nonprofit, we rely on our Board to play a significant role in this effort. Our Board sets an ambitious goal every year and we need new members who can help us diversify fundraising streams, whether through personal giving, network connections, or professional sponsorships.

2. INCREASE BRAND AWARENESS.

We look to our Board members to be brand ambassadors, helping us establish WPLN as the preeminent national organization for center-right women's leadership. Board members may be asked to co-author an op-ed, speak on a panel, or join us for one of our virtual programs. We are also happy to get creative and help our Board expand their professional brands at the same time.

3. BUILD OUR NETWORK.

An important part of our work is to build this community of women who share our common principles and are interested in becoming more effective leaders, as candidates, elected officials, or advocates. We also want this community to include men and women that support our mission and these women in their journeys. Our Board members use their networks to help us identify these individuals, from women leaders who use our resources to experts that become resources for our women and everyone in between.

Our Board members are a vital part of our WPLN Team. By joining us, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Directly influence the political ecosystem to become more diverse and inclusive of women who identify across the spectrum.

  • Increase the number of effective leaders making decisions on policies that impact people's lives daily.

  • Build your network to include leaders across the country that share your passion to see more women  in public office.

  • Continue building your brand with opportunities to showcase your thought leadership.

  • Meet the women our work directly impacts at events like our National Summit and State Partner Retreat.

If you have read and agree to these expectations, we invite you to submit your application to be considered for a position on the Board of Directors. If you have questions, please reach out to hello@womenspublicleadership.net. Please apply by January 31, 2024.
