Alexandria, VA (August 26, 2024)—Women’s Public Leadership Network (WPLN), a non-partisan non-profit that equips and encourages women to seek public office, is pleased to announce today that we have launched the third cohort of our Fellowship for Nonprofit Management for the 2024-2025 academic year.
"I am thrilled to once again welcome a new cohort of exceptional women to the WPLN Fellowship," said Larissa Martinez, WPLN Founder and President. "We initiated this program in 2022 and we have been overwhelmingly impressed by the exceptional talent and contributions of our inaugural and second cohorts. I am confident that these new fellows will elevate our mission and inspire future generations of women leaders."
Three young women were selected for this Fellowship:
- Grace Jackson, Purdue University
- Jianna Covarelli, Texas Woman's University
- Sarah Harper, University of Tennessee - Knoxville
As part of this program, fellows help build the capacity of our organization and assist our State Partners who identify, engage, and train women on the ground to seek public office. Hear from WPLN Alumni Fellows on how this program kickstarted their professional journeys:
“By working across WPLN's state partner network, I had the opportunity to learn a variety of leadership and growth strategies, as well as work on diverse projects. I also had the opportunity to expand my network and build long-lasting relationships. The WPLN fellowship is truly unique and was one of the best experiences of my college career!” – Kendall Webb (2023-2024 Class)
As part of WPLN’s inaugural class of fellows, Georgia Polemenakos (2022-2023 Class) assisted programming and outreach efforts with WPLN’s Massachusetts training partner, Pocketbook Project. Now, Georgia serves as Pocketbook Project’s Executive Director. "The network you gain from the Women's Public Leadership fellowship is one that you can continue to grow on and expand on for a lifetime,” Georgia said. “This network is built on women and men that you can reach out to in 30 years and say ‘I met you at WPLN’s National Summit…’ and they will gladly help and guide you. Without the Women's Public Leadership Network I wouldn't be where I am today."
In September, the fellows and WPLN staff will gather in Washington, D.C. for a two-day training weekend. Follow WPLN (@WPLNetwork) on all platforms for updates on the Fellowship program and our ongoing work to empower women leaders.

About Women’s Public Leadership Network
Women’s Public Leadership Network (WPLN) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that educates, organizes, and inspires women to enter public office across the United States. We aim to mitigate barriers women face by partnering with a network of state-based organizations who identify, engage, and train women to run for elected office, obtain political appointments, and become more involved in the political process. WPLN also offers tools and opportunities designed to equip women with the knowledge and resources they need as they step up, get involved in the political process, and lead.
